Paradigm Opens Its Centaur Agent to Outside Slack Channels

Paradigm has unlocked its Centaur AI agent for external Slack channels, loosening what had been an internal-only assistant into something clients and partners can actually talk to. Until now, Centaur lived behind the company’s own walls — useful, but walled off from the people who’d benefit most from instant, agent-backed answers.

Opening it to external channels is a meaningful trust shift. An agent that represents your firm in front of outside teams has to be careful: it speaks for you. That means tighter guardrails, better citation, and a lower tolerance for hallucination than an internal helper gets away with. Paradigm’s willingness to expose Centaur suggests it’s confident the agent can hold that line.

For the agent ecosystem, this is another sign the action is moving from “agents that help employees” to “agents that are the interface between companies.” The Slack integration is the natural beachhead — it’s where business already happens — and it lets Centaur slot into existing workflows instead of demanding a new app.

Expect more firms to follow. The competitive question shifts from “do you have an agent?” to “can your agent safely talk to my agent?”
